they couldn't "stop" bluray from working, but they might not open the api's for bluray drivers... they might also raise the price for dell to purchase windows for their computers or something like that... there are ways to put pressure on OEM's legally (microsoft has been doing it for years... and apple bipassed all that by just creating a vertical structure where they listen to no one)
But I don't even think microsoft cares that much about which format wins, either ...
the gamepad can be just as good... just has a little higher learning curve is all..
but dell could abandon ship if microsoft doesn't support bluray drives... dell will probably eventually just do what microsoft tells them... OEM typically listen to the supplier of the OS
a "screenshot" cannot be in 1080p resolution... because a screenshot cannot be progressive scanned... it can be 1080X1940 resolution, but the "p" refers to the scanning between frames and thus has no relevance to screenshots....
the term 1080p to to frequently thrown out there with little to no meaning.
that it won't happen, and its not that I fear change.. but I work in retail (eb games)... and let me tell you, if sony does away with buying games in store gamestop will NOT sell the ps4 and neither will a lot of retail chains... if movies, tv shows, and games are all sold over the internet and not at a store that means a lot of retail employees will end up unemployed and that will upset people.... i mean, right now you can buy stuff off the internet and have it sent to you, and this is a ver...
whoops... double post
i hope digital distribution doesn't win the war.... because that would cripple the retail industry... and just imagine if you get tired of a game, you won't be able to trade it in to a gamestop. Giving gifts would be equally hard (would it be a card or maybe you go online and print out the receipt for someone??) There would also be no bring the game over to a friends house and what about running out of disc space??? even if they offer 500 GB... if games continue to expand like sony says th...
its almost 2 bucks less if the movie isn't new!
don't bad mouth viva pinata... i'm probably gonna buy that tomorrow, from what i've heard its a lot of fun.
this approach started last year with a small game known as geometry wars... which was on the xblm
i do admit i'm biased to 360 (gears of war is eating up too much of my time) but i'll wait for microsoft's fiscal report before jumping to any conclusions...
this generation should benefit all gamers though.
according to nexgenwars.com the xbox360 has sold a few hundred thousand units over the weekend you have to wonder if there isn't a little bias in an article posted on msn...
wednesday can't come soon enough!
nintendo just wants your money... screw hidding it with cute characters just bend over.. grab your ankles... and kiss your wallet goodbye!!
elder scrolls IV dude... another sequel... c'mon...
that gears of war deserves game of the year because it is an original IP... zelda is another sequel (a brilliant sequel that deserves high accolades...) If anything I simply think its important for developers to focus on new stories and new ideas rather than put together another sequel, even if the sequels exceed the prior games (resident evil 4, devil may cry 3, and really.. any final fantasy are good examples.)
I think the best example of why we as a gaming community should st...
no one has ever said that FFXIII or Killzone are coming in 2007
you know what i meant
expected this to some degree... every console launch has issues because no matter how much quality control a company does there are going to be conditions that they haven't tested.
The only launch that might not have these problems is the "wii" because the technology is pretty much proven. unless sunlight fries the sensor bar, which I highly doubt it will...
Once sony has tweaked the manufacturing lines (just like with the 360) all these problems will...
is awesome!!
